a woman shot to death in the doorway to her home. and the killer is on the run tonight.. we have the latest on the investigation. and a protest in support of the bundy family on the steps of the federal courthouse downtown.... as ammon bundy remains behind bars in oregon. and two days til the iowa caucuses... we'll show you how the presidential candidates are stepping up the games to gather last minute support. this is fox5 news at 10. local. las vegas. neighbors in east las vegas woke up this morning to the sounds of a woman screaming. i'm elizabeth watts. thanks for joining us. a woman was shot in her front door... and whoever pulled the trigger is still out there tonight... fox 5s cyndi lundeberg visited the scene and talked with family and friends... she joins us now in our newsroom with more details on the investigation... tonight metro police are still looking for the suspects... and a possible motive. i spoke with neighbors who

the family of denise gray... everyone who lives nearby was understandably shaken up. anna briseno- me and my sister saw the lady on the floor and she was yelling for help just after 2 am saturday police responded to calls from neighbors in east las vegas... that heard a woman screaming. roger nye- they heard her hollering for help and in the interim they heard a gunshot neighbors tell me they were woken up to the sounds of a woman screaming last night when they came outside they saw her standing in the doorway this is where police later found her the family confirmed the woman killed is denise gray... gray was shot in the doorway of her home near cheyenne and las vegas boulevard. anna briseno was across the street and saw gray... and called 9-1-1. anna briseno- she was saying help me im dying anna briseno- uhh it was really scary gray was taken to the hospital where she later died. fox 5 spoke to the family of gray but they didn't want to appear on camera... norman snyder- its a shock to me and of course its disheartening that someone lost their life in this area

storm moving in off the pacific is going to change things up. this storm is expected to produce wind, rain and cool temperatures in the las vegas area sunday and snow in our local mountains. a winter storm warning goes into effect for the spring range and sheep range mountains sunday at noon and remains in effect until monday afternoon at 4pm. up to 12" could fall at 6000' and higher. rainfall in the valley sunday into monday is projected to be just under 4/10th of an inch of rain. on and off wind gusts are expected to be over 20 mph over the next 48 hours. once the system passes us our high temperatures plunge into the upper 40's for a few days then will gradually warm up but will remain below seasonal

a proposed football stadium could cost one- point-two billion dollars... and we're learning how much money the sands corporation wants to come from public funding. the review journal- owned by sheldon adelson- is reporting developers would look for 780- million dollars in public financing. the sands is going to present a proposal to southern nevada tourism infrastructure committee... and ask for hotel room taxes that go to l-v-c-v-a to be diverted to the project. it wants to build the n-f-l stadium on 42 acres of unlv land... in a public-private partnership. sands says the stadium would only help tourism grow. adelson met with the owner of the

on friday to discuss possibly bringing the homeless team to las vegas. family and friends grieve the death of a woman killed by a suspected impaired driver. dozens gathered for a vigil to remember the victim. the memorial of flowers and candles says "rest in peace to jenio eugenio". police say she died in a crash near rainbow and spring mountain wednesday morning. the driver identified as 33- year-old victor sandoval was trying to get away from police... after officers found him passed out in his car. police say he slammed into patrol cars... ran several red lights... before slamming into the victim. both vehicles flipped and landed in the parking lot of a gas station. she died at the scene. the driver was taken to u-m-c with life- threatening injuries. police believe he was driving under the influence. a federal judge denies bond for militia member ammon bundy and several others who occupied a federal wildlife facility in oregon. prosecutors say they pose a threat

armed resistance to the federal government. the group took over the refuge in early january. the f-b-i released aerial footage showing a deadly traffic stop on tuesday... where militia member lavoy finicum was shot and killed. some occupiers say he had his hands up in the air or on his knees. police say the officers opened fire when he reached toward his waistband -- where he had a gun. ranchers stood outside the courthouse in burns, oregon with signs reading "ambushed and assassinated". back here in the valley -- locals stood outside our federal courthouse. "our federal government killed an american citizen a memorial rally outside the lloyd george u-s federal courthouse in honor of lavoy finicum. the group says he was an american patriot ambushed by the federal way to a town hall meeting. some supporters the federal and state government keeps growing to where they cannot be controlled. "theyre killing people and getting away from it. we have to stand up

differences race religion culture we have to stand against tyranny." the protesters encourage those who do not live in las vegas to hold their own memorial rallies outside courthouses or government offices. a mobile home fire leaves a man in extremely critical condition. it happened around nine this morning near carey and pecos. crews found the mobile home engulfed in flames. north las vegas firefighters were able to control it in under twelve minutes. a man was taken to u-m-c with extreme critical injuries. no firefighters were hurt. north las vegas fire say the home is a complete loss. the cost of damage is around 100-thousand dollars. the cause of the fire has not been released. an elderly man who went missing last night may be in danger. metro police need help finding 90- year-old george kimura. he was last seen around 7-30 friday night near tropicana and decatur -- wearing a red and blue

"everybody out here having a good time. its beautiful day so were thorougly glad we came." welcome to fox five sports. i'm nick lagrange. the runnin' rebels have won four of their last five -- under interim head coach todd simon. but tonight -- they faced one of their toughest match- ups of the season.... ...with san diego state visiting the thomas and mack. the atzecs were undefeated in conference play, coming into tonight's game. runnin' rebels were hoping to change that. bad news in the first half -- on the aztec miss, ben carter lands awkwardly. he appears to tweak his left knee. and he would not leave the floor under his own power. definitely a big blow to the runnin' rebels roster. back to the game -- eight to play in the first half. runnin' rebels on the break. patrick mccaw gets it on the wing, and knocks down a three. that cut the aztecs lead to two. a couple minutes later -- ike nwamu hits a transition three of his own. game tied at 20.

"the desire of james cannon is to be able to develop young people to be responsible community people. be responsible for wellfare of others. also give them an education and to develop in them sense of community

organizers say this event is about everyone stepping in together to end homelessness. they believe with las vegas mayor's faith-based initiative it will reach many people. a public charter school needs to fill nearly 75 job positions for its new campuses. "coral academy of science" hosted its first of three hiring events today. it's opening new campuses in the centennial hills area and nellis air force base for the 20-16 and 20-17 school year. the award- winning school is looking for teachers... administrators... and support staff. "we're looking for qualified outstanding teachers, passionate about what theyre doing and want to work for an outstanding school." "we're looking for an applicant that is passionate about kids and doing to support every kid wherever they're at from front office all to administrative gotta care about kids thats gotta be number one." the next hiring event is february 20-th... and the last one is in april. both will be at sandy ridge campus from ten a-m to three p-m.

san francisco got to see mario kart in action! the group of friends took on lombard street with little kid cars. the street is dubbed the "crookedest street in the world". you can see mario... luigi... princess peach... and the monkey! at first it was smooth sail... until some started slipping on bananas! thanks for joining
